May, 2011: Blachford Inc. has its Bronze Status from Caterpillar recertified
Caterpillar awarded Blachford Inc. Bronze Certification Status in their Supplier Quality Excellence Process (SQEP) in 2009. Blachford Inc. has just received its 2011 Bronze Status Recertification with the award ceremony held May 12. The SQEP recognises supplier quality excellence combining quality system and process management requirements along with demonstrated results. Blachford Inc. is the first insulation supplier to achieve any level of SQEP Certification.
November, 2009: Blachford announces closure of its Montreal Plant
H. L. Blachford Ltd. has announced the closure of its Montreal, Quebec chemical manufacturing facility in the 4th quarter of 2010 as part of a restructuring plan. Some of the 26 affected employees will be relocated to the Mississauga manufacturing facility. "The closure of our Montreal facility allows us to consolidate Research & Development as well as manufacturing capabilities, thus providing a stronger foundation to the business," said John Blachford, President and Owner. The company will continue to manufacture the majority of its Chemical Specialty products at its other facilities.
October, 2008: John Blachford is elected to the Chemistry Industry Association of Canada's Board of Directors
Dr John Blachford was nominated and elected as a new member of the Board of Directors for the Chemistry Industry Association of Canada (formerly Canada's Chemical Producers Association) for a four-year term.
May, 2008: Black Belt Award
Steve Jensen, Process Engineer, has won the award for best Black Belt candidate at PACCAR's recent training course.
April, 2008: Blachford acquires JemPak's Metallic Stearate division.
H.L. Blachford Ltd. and JemPak GK Inc. are pleased to announce that an agreement has been reached for Blachford to acquire JemPak's Oakville-based Metallic Stearate division. The acquisition of the JemPak GK Stearate business by Blachford will expand the range of stearates which Blachford currently markets.
Blachford will relocate the stearate manufacturing equipment strategically throughout Blachford's three North American sites.
The transition of the JemPak GK stearate business over to Blachford will begin immediately and will be structured to ensure that clients are not negatively affected.
April, 2008: Institute of Noise Control Engineering Board of Directors
Blachford Inc.'s Charlie Moritz has joined the Board of Directors for the Institute of Noise Control Engineering (INCE).

March, 2008: H. L. Blachford receives Innovation Award
The Magna Innovation Awards are given annually to Magna business units for implementing ideas leading to best business practices. Closure Metal Products was presented with the award for its work in eliminating waste, reducing environmental impact and producing significant cost savings using the lubricant system proposed and installed by H.L. Blachford. The system continues to be profiled throughout Magna as a model for waste reduction and environmental stewardship.

Blachford RP, which produces and designs a vast range of highly-engineered OEM rubber and carpet floor covering solutions, is a PACCAR'S Preferred Supplier award winner.
